Abstract The purpose of this research was to compare the five dimensions of personality, body image and self-esteem in women applying for cosmetic surgery and non-applicants. The research method was causal-comparative. The statistical population was made up of all women applying for cosmetic surgery referring to private beauty centers in Tabriz city in 1402 (Shamsi Calendar). The statistical sample consisted of 100 women, with 50 applying for cosmetic surgery and 50 non-applicants. They were selected using purposive sampling method for compare with the target group and were assessed using the Five-Factor of Neo Costa and McCree Questionnaire (1992), the Multidimensional Body-Self Relationship Questionnaire (1997) and Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale Questionnaire (1965).  In order to analyze the data, Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) test was used. The hypotheses test revealed that there is no significant difference between the women applying for cosmetic surgery and non-applicants in terms of the five dimensions of personality and its components (neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience) (p>0.05), but there is a significant difference between the dimensions of agreeableness and conscientiousness ( p<0.001). Additionally, no significant difference was found in the variable of body image and its components (importance to others, responsibility, courage, self-acceptance) (p>0.05) or in self-esteem and its components (p>0.05). Based on the results,  it can be said that women applying for cosmetic surgery do not differ from non-applicating women in terms of the five dimensions of personality, body image and self-esteem.

Abstract Today, many countries in the world face the cognitive demographic challenges of decreasing birth rates and delaying marriages, which can lead to aging populations and labor shortages. Iran is one of the countries affected by these developments. The aim of this study is to identify and examine effective policies that promote marriage and increase birth rates globally. The findings and analyses obtained can serve as a valuable resource for encouraging marriage among younger generations and increasing birth rates in our country. The collection of this data is a systematic review that includes reputable academic research, government publications, and statistical databases from countries that have succeeded in this global challenge that has addressed the subject over the past decade. Based on the information collected, it can be said that financial concerns such as pay increases, tax deductions for families, and care for children with working parents, as well as social support programs such as generous leave for parents, housing priority for couples, and marriage promotion, were identified with the help of initiatives such as social promotion campaigns and the use of media. The study shows promising policy options for Iran, and adjusting these findings to Iran’s cultural and religious conditions and implementing experimental plans prior to national scaling could help curtail the current trend.

Abstract The present study aimed to examine the impact of family cultural capital on daughters’ marital quality, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of communication skills. The research problem was formulated in light of the increasing marital challenges in contemporary Iranian society and the pivotal role of the family institution in enhancing marital quality. This study employed a descriptive–analytical design using a survey method. The statistical population consisted of married women aged 20 to 35 in Tehran who had been married for at least one year. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires measuring cultural capital (based on Bourdieu’s theory), communication skills, and marital quality (researcher-made questionnaire). Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).The findings indicated that family cultural capital has a direct and significant effect on daughters’ marital quality. Furthermore, communication skills play a substantial mediating role in strengthening this relationship. The results suggest that daughters raised in families with higher levels of cultural capital demonstrate stronger communication skills, which in turn enhance marital interactions and improve marital quality.By emphasizing the mediating function of communication skills, this study clarifies the causal pathways between variables and offers important implications for family policy-making and premarital education programs.

Abstract This study examines a ceramic vessel depicting the story of Bijan and Manizheh, dating back to the 6th century AH and originating from the city of Rey. The primary aim of this research is to analyze the representation of Manizheh’s character in this visual artwork and compare it with her portrayal in Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. The central research question is as follows:How is Manizheh’s role represented in the text of the Shahnameh and in the ceramic images from the Freer Gallery Collection in Washington, and what are the differences in interpretation of this character across these two media? In terms of purpose, the research is applied, and in terms of nature, it follows a descriptive and visual-analytical method. Data collection was conducted through library research, consultation of credible domestic and online sources, and examination of ceramic vessels featuring Bijan and Manizheh found in the Freer Gallery Collection. The findings indicate that the ceramic artist has preserved symbolic elements while generally remaining faithful to the narrative, portraying Manizheh as a loyal, loving, and patient figure. However, her heroic and proactive dimensions, as emphasized in the Shahnameh, are less visible. Ferdowsi depicts Manizheh as a courageous woman with an active role in saving Bijan, symbolizing unwavering love and devotion.Ultimately, while the ceramic artwork retains the epic tone of the story through the inclusion of Rostam’s heroism and other epic elements, it places greater emphasis on the emotional and symbolic aspects of Manizheh’s character. The study reveals differences in the interpretation and representation of Manizheh between text and image, yet both media complement each other in preserving Iran’s cultural heritage and national narratives. One of the key outcomes of this research is highlighting the importance of the unity between visual and literary arts in maintaining and transmitting national stories. It demonstrates the special role of ceramics in promoting and reinterpreting ancient Iranian tales.

Abstract This brief report, from a social psychology perspective, explores the impact of creative participation by school-aged girls in the production of dramatic literature based on Khayyam-khani (recitation of Khayyam’s quatrains), with the aim of enhancing self-esteem and reinforcing bonds with cultural-religious identity during childhood. The study employed a quantitative method using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). The statistical population included 50 girls aged 8 to 10 from Shahid Sharif Ashraf Elementary School in Shiraz, who actively participated in various stages of creating, performing, and staging Khayyam-based plays. The program, rooted in the quatrains of Omar Khayyam as symbols of Iranian-Islamic wisdom, provided a platform for purposeful social interaction, lived artistic experience, and the reconstruction of cultural identity. Data analysis through comparison of pre-test and post-test scores indicated a significant improvement in self-esteem indicators. The findings suggest that engagement in theatrical activities based on classical texts can serve as a cultural-psychological intervention to enhance core components of positive self-concept, self-efficacy, and sense of worth in children. Furthermore, the results indicate that integrating performing arts with authentic Iranian-Islamic content not only promotes children's mental well-being but also serves as a key factor in preserving the cultural identity of the new generation. Accordingly, it is recommended that modern educational approaches harness the potential of classical literature and creative drama to foster students' psychological resilience and cultural cohesion.

Abstract Women's employment has always been discussed in various dimensions. The creation of paradox in the field of women's employment has raised questions among thinkers in the economic, social, moral, and religious spheres. The argument of this article is to see what is Islam's approach to women's employment? What are the obstacles and challenges facing the issue of women's employment in an Islamic society? This research has tried to analyze the economic and living conditions of women by documenting the systematic and exploratory study by reviewing the systematic studies conducted in this field and the theoretical considerations taken from the Islamic point of view, emphasizing its adaptation to the original religious teachings in Islamic Iran. Pay attention to the main purpose. The findings show that although Islam has given women the principle of economic independence, women are both the owners of their labor and production and have no responsibility for the family's economy, but in the context of handing over labor to women in Islam, the interests of society, the family It also takes into account individual circumstances and issues, which create limitations for women's work. Certificates of cognitive population show that women's economic participation has increased from 12.93 percent in the 1976 census to 16 percent in the 2016 census, indicating a change in the participation of women in the Islamic economy, a change in their personal and social identities. An increase in the number of female graduates, women’s employment in different economic sectors and increase in women's activity in management sectors compared to previous decades indicate a significant growth. However, the lack of equal opportunities in favor to men to find jobs, lower wages than men and the unemployment rate of women, especially in higher education, the existence of some social and cultural restrictions on women's employment, attitudes and misconceptions. Compared to the competence of women in various jobs, the expansion of gender inequality in access to resources and the consequent increase in harm due to the lack of readiness and recognition of society are the main concern and challenge of women's employment in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Abstract Women make up half of the world’s population. Therefore, their economic activities, as half of the community workforce, are very effective in achieving economic growth and development. Different societies have different views about the extent of women’s participation in economic activities. In the west view, Women enter the labor market without any restriction and engage the economic activities. Their job role is primarily in priority and important than the role of their mother and wife. But in Islam views, while emphasizing woman’s participation in economic activities, their roles as mother and wife are emphasized. Islam accepts woman’s employment under certain conditions. In this research, an attempt has been made to examine these two perspectives and compare them with each other. Then, the consequences and results of these views on the current situation of women in these societies are examined. This article has been prepared by descriptive and analytical methods, using library information.

Fatemeh Khodadadi Aq Qaleh, Ali Asgari

Abstract Women constitute half of the global population. Currently, one of the main needs of females in society is to be present in urban spaces with security. In this regard, it is of great importance to improve the quality of urban spaces for the presence of all members of society, especially women. Therefore, the permeability of urban spaces is one of the most important factors enabling the continuous presence of women in urban spaces. Enhancing the permeability of urban spaces will improve security, thereby leading to the significant presence and the establishment of social interactions in the public area. The present research is a descriptive-analytical study carried out to understand the relationship between the presence of women and security provided by permeability in Dowlat Abad and Hezar Dastgah residential towns in Tehran. To this end, 309 women live in Hezar Dastgah residential town, and 289 women live in Dowlat Abad residential town. Those who have had a residency history of at least two years are randomly selected (the sample size was estimated using Cochran's formula), and obtained data are analyzed using SPSS 22 software. The results indicate that the residents of Hezardastgah residential town experience significantly higher permeability in the public spaces compared to those of Dowlat Abad residential town. While about 52.2% of the residents of Hezar Dastgah residential town have the feeling of security, 37% of the residents in Dowlat Abad residential town have this feeling. Moreover, examining the relationship between security provided by permeability and the presence of women indicates that factors such as visual control and accessibility and legibility are the most important factors playing a role in providing security, followed by spatial integrity.

Predicting Generalized Anxiety Disorder Among Female Students Using Random Forest Approach

Volume 5, Issue 1, Autumn 2023

Zahra Gholami, Habibeh Zare

Abstract Mental health is considered one of the major challenges for the generations. Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is one of many mental health complications. However, individuals with the disorder experience hyperbolic concerns and tensions regarding daily events. Furthermore, it is reported that approximately 5% of the population of developed countries suffer from GAD. Additionally, women are affected by this disease twice as often as men, and it is an increasing disorder among women, particularly female students. This paper aims to predict generalized anxiety disorder among female students using the random decision forest algorithm. The data mining method was utilized for prediction. Female students of Shiraz Azad University developed the research community. Therefore, 150 female students were selected by simple random method and tested with a DSM-IV questionnaire. Accordingly, a random forest algorithm is proposed to generate a prediction model. Moreover, NetBeans IDE was applied for operationalization. Java was the programming language to code the prototype, and the WEKA library was involved in the operation. However, the results showed that the prediction accuracy with the random forest algorithm exceeds 0.9, which indicates that the algorithm is likely to predict GAD accurately. The random decision forest algorithm consistently predicts an individual not suffering from GAD. The results are relatively consistent compared to the baseline employed in the R. However, the random decision forest algorithm produces high predictive performance and may display significant relationships between the proposed and dependent parameters.

Abstract Modern fertility procedures have taken a positive and important step in the direction of treating infertility and helping to increase the population. Furthermore, it provided the means to consolidate the family. However, among the many methods of infertility treatment and also during medical work, sometimes the multiple insemination of embryos causes difficult conditions that oblige the couple to reduce the embryos. Accordingly, "Is the reduction of the fetus legal in jurisprudence?" "Is it appropriate to sacrifice an embryo to benefit another embryo? "Doesn't reducing fetuses jeopardize the goal of increasing the country's population and the welfare of the society?" This paper aims to answer the mentioned questions utilizing the library method, examine the legitimacy or illegitimacy of fetal reduction, and check the expedients in this matter. From the point of view of Islamic jurisprudence, the reduction of the fetus has been legitimate. According to the rules of jurisprudence, including the rule of "Akhf al-Arwein," concluded that preserving the mother's life and reducing the fetus have more benefits and less harm.

Abstract This research aimed to investigate the relationship between sexual dialogue and the sexual performance of married women in Shiraz in the year 1402 (Shamsi). Our statistical population was married women living in Shiraz who had experienced sexual intercourse within the past six months. From this population, 200 people were selected using convenience sampling and responded to the questionnaires. Data were collected using the Sexual Relationship Pattern questionnaire, the Arizona sexual experience scale questionnaire (women's form), and a demographic questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson's correlation coefficient test in SPSS software. The results showed a significant positive relationship between sexual conversation and sexual performance. It can be explained that among women who had more sexual dialogue, there was greater satisfaction in their sexual performance.

Abstract This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of happiness training on positive affect and life expectancy in women with postpartum depression. The statistical population of this research included all women with postpartum depression who referred to health centers in Kohgiluyeh, Iran during the first quarter of 1400 (Iranian calendar year). From this population, 30 women were randomly selected and assigned to experimental and control groups (15 participants in each group). Both groups completed the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) by Watson and the Herth Hope Index (HHI) before the intervention. The experimental group participated in eight 120-minute group happiness training sessions. After the intervention, both groups completed the questionnaires again. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way MANCOVA with SPSS software. The findings indicated a significant positive relationship between happiness training and both positive affect and life expectancy in women with postpartum depression (P < 0.05), as demonstrated by one-way ANCOVA. Therefore, happiness training is an active, purposeful, and appropriate treatment for psychological disorders in primary care centers. This treatment improves patient performance, enhances skills, and helps patients cope with their issues and problems.

Abstract .The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between love styles and attachment styles with the marital adjustment of married women working in education in Tehran. The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of this study included all married women working in education in Tehran in 1403 (2024). Cluster and random sampling methods were used. The participants completed the Attitude toward Love (Love Styles) Questionnaire (Hendrick & Hendrick, 1986), the Attachment Questionnaire (Collins & Reid, 1990), and the Marital Adjustment Questionnaire (Spanier, 1976). To examine the relationships between the research variables, the Pearson correlation method was used, and to analyze the nature of these relationships, multivariate regression was applied using the latest version of SPSS-28 software. The results revealed a significant correlation between attachment styles and marital adjustment, as well as between love styles and marital adjustment among married women working in education in Tehran. According to the findings, there was a positive and significant relationship between the love styles of Eros, Storge, Pragma, and Agape with marital adjustment, while a negative and significant relationship was found between the love styles of Ludus and Mania with marital adjustment. According to the significance level, Eros love style (with an impact coefficient of 0.284), Ludus (with an impact coefficient of -0.14), Storge (with an impact coefficient of 0.29), Pragma (with an impact coefficient of 0.12), Mania (with an impact coefficient of -0.14), and Secure attachment style (with an impact coefficient of 0.09) were able to predict marital adjustment. However, Agape love style, as well as avoidant and anxious attachment styles, were not able to predict marital adjustment.
