Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based couple therapy on sexual satisfaction and self-differentiation among women affected by infidelity. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and control group. The statistical population included women affected by infidelity in Isfahan during the third quarter of 2023. A sample of 30 participants was selected through purposive sampling from the available population and assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected using the Larson Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (1998) and the Drake and Murdock Self-Differentiation Questionnaire (2015). The mindfulness-based couple therapy intervention was conducted in accordance with Gerhart’s (2012) protocol over nine 90-minute sessions for the experimental group. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The results showed that mindfulness-based couple therapy had a significant effect on sexual satisfaction (P<0.05) and self-differentiation (P<0.05). These findings suggest that mindfulness-based couple therapy can be an effective intervention for enhancing sexual satisfaction and strengthening self-differentiation among women affected by infidelity.

Abstract This qualitative study explores the personal well-being experiences of entrepreneurial women in Tabriz who have embarked on the path of self-employment. The aim is to analyze how these women face the challenges and opportunities along their entrepreneurial journey while maintaining and enhancing their well-being. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 purposefully selected women entrepreneurs and analyzed using MAXQDA software. The data analysis was grounded in the Self-Determination Theory (SDT).Findings indicate that two primary factors contributed to the enhancement of these women's well-being: (1) spirituality and faith, serving as sources of resilience and purpose, and (2) work-life balance and the quality of family relationships as key elements of well-being. Entering the realm of self-employment increased their sense of autonomy and flexibility, thus enhancing their well-being through improved physical health, family relationships, and personal satisfaction. Nevertheless, participants faced challenges such as stress from balancing professional and personal responsibilities. The results also highlight the important role of entrepreneurial training in boosting motivation and success, aligning with SDT components of autonomy, competence, and relatedness.By addressing existing gaps in the understanding of women entrepreneurs’ well-being, this study contributes to the literature in this field and emphasizes the importance of resilience and the need for specific support, particularly from spouses.

Abstract Background: The amount of umbilical cord blood gas reflects the fetus’ metabolic status and is one of the main diagnostic criteria of birth asphyxia. The question is whether anxiety caused by labor pain of the mother affects asphyxia birth and umbilical cord blood gases? Comparison of the effects of maternal supportive care and acupressure (BL32 acupoint) during labor on the mother’s anxiety level and Arterial oxygen pressure of the umbilical cord of infants (PO2). Materials and Methods: This clinical trial was performed on 150 pregnant women who were randomly assigned to two interventions and a control group in the delivery ward of the selected educational center of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Shoushtari hospital). Mothers’ anxiety scores before (beginning of the active stage of labor) and after the intervention (the end of the first stage of labor) were measured using Spielberger’s questionnaire. then infants’ cord blood samples for arterial blood gas and hematologic analyses sent to the hospital’s laboratory. After all, the data with SPSS version16 and using Pearson’s correlation coefficient, one-way ANOVA, were analyzed. Results: The mean of anxiety score in the control group was 21.1% and in the support group and the acupressure group, decreased by 37.5% and 34.8% respectively (p<0.001). The mean of PO2 was also reported in maternal supportive, acupressure, and control groups, 40.4±8.8, 27.4±2.8, and 18.1±3.7, respectively. Additionally, a significant correlation was found between mothers’ anxiety scores after the intervention and the mean of PO2 (p=0.014). Conclusion: The supportive care and acupressure at BL32 acupoint reduced mothers’ anxiety and, consequently, improved fetal oxygenation. SO, the Support group was better than the acupressure group, but they were not statistically significant.

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the relationship between seven components of women's lifestyle (sleep, omega-3 intake, exercise, sunlight, and socialization, using cyberspace and using traditional media) with their mental health according to an evolutionary point of view. The statistical population included women over 18 years old living in Shiraz in 1398-99, of which 182 women answered the questionnaires by sampling. Lifestyle questionnaires and Hopkins syndrome were used to collect data. Data analysis was performed using two tests of Pearson correlation coefficient and regression coefficient using SPSS-26 software. The results showed that in general, omega-3 consumption has a significant Curved linear dual relation with mental health. Among the subscales of the Hopkins sign, sleep also showed a significant positive relationship with somatization and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It can be seen that women's lifestyle has a great impact on their mental health, their children, and maintaining the physical and mental health of the family. Promoting a lifestyle that is more in line with women's evolutionary past is a more plausible perspective that can improve their mental health.

Volume 4, Issue 1, Winter 2022

Soheila Bastani, Mitra Safakish

Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between parenting styles with parents’ sexual knowledge and attitude and the level of interest in talking about sexual issues with children in Shiraz. Therefore, 160 parents with children were selected by convenience sampling as a statistical sample. The data were collected by Parenting Styles Questionnaire (Baumrind, 1991), Parents’ Interest in Talking about Sexual Issues (Koblinsky & Atkinson, 1982), and Sexual Knowledge and Attitude Scale (Besharat, 2005). The reliability of the instruments was estimated using Cronbach’s alpha. The relationship between each dimension of parenting styles and parents’ sexual knowledge and attitude and interest in talking about sexual issues was examined using correlation and regression analysis. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between authoritarian parenting style and interest in talking about sexual issues. There was a significant positive relationship between authoritative parenting style and sexual knowledge and attitude. Furthermore, no significant relationship was found between permissive parenting style and sexual knowledge and attitude, and interest in talking about sexual issues in the family. However, even with the introduction of sexual knowledge and attitudes as predictors, the authoritarian parenting style still negatively predicted the level of parents’ interest in discussing sexual issues. According to the results, the best parenting style for communicating with children and talking about sexual issues is the authoritative parenting style. Parents should increase their knowledge and awareness about sexual issues and learn the principles of authoritative parenting to prevent high-risk and harmful behaviors in children.

Abstract This study aims to investigate the role of body image in predicting sexual performance quality in primiparous women after childbirth in Bushehr. Bodily changes after childbirth, particularly in first-time mothers, can significantly affect their body perception, as well as their sexual relationships and satisfaction. Researchers believe that a positive or negative body image after childbirth influences not only sexual performance quality but also mental health and life satisfaction in women. Given the importance of this issue, this research specifically examines how body image affects the sexual performance of primiparous women in Bushehr. The research used a quantitative approach, employing valid and standardized measurement tools for data collection. The tools included the Fisher Body Image Scale (FBIS) and the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), both of which have the necessary validity and reliability for accurate assessment. These tools are specifically designed to evaluate various aspects of body image and sexual function. The study population consisted of primiparous women who had given birth vaginally. To enhance the accuracy and generalizability of the results, random sampling was employed, and the study group was selected from primiparous women with similar conditions residing in Bushehr. The findings clearly showed that postpartum body image significantly influences sexual function quality. Women with a positive body image after childbirth reported higher sexual performance quality. In contrast, women with a negative body image experienced a significant decline in satisfaction and sexual function quality. These findings underscore the importance of considering the mental health and body image of women after childbirth, emphasizing that a negative body image can affect not only sexual health but also interpersonal relationships. The results also indicated that improving body image after childbirth could directly lead to increased satisfaction with sexual performance. This highlights the importance of focusing on body image in postpartum women and shows that through the development of behavioral and psychological interventions, body image can be enhanced, ultimately improving women’s quality of life and mental health. The overall conclusion of this research emphasizes that postpartum body image plays a crucial role in women’s sexual and mental health. Abstract This review article explores the complex relationship between women, lifestyle, and prayer in Islam, with special emphasis on incorporating psychological perspectives. The purpose of this research is to comprehensively examine the mechanisms through which prayer affects the lives of Muslim women and its impact on their lifestyle and overall health during the Coronavirus period. This study is a comprehensive analysis of Persian articles using reliable internal databases and Iran's official news organizations. The present review includes Persian keywords such as "women, lifestyle, prayer, narrative review, psychological perspectives, Islam." The inclusion criteria included clinical, experimental, cross-sectional, review, and hypotheses related to women and the Islamic lifestyle. Exclusion criteria included the presence of duplicate or inappropriate content in the publications that did not match the relevant topic. The findings of this narrative research show the important role that prayer plays in the lives of Muslim women. Prayer acts as a practice that strengthens social bonds and fosters inner peace under challenging circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Prayer facilitates relaxation, introspection, and emotional support, thereby enhancing women's well-being and performance as a strategy for managing stress, anxiety, and resilience while enhancing mindfulness and self-control. In addition, it examines the impact of prayer on women's lives through its impact on daily routines, moral behavior, and social relationships, and provides direction and perspective for personal development.

Abstract Women, as one of the main pillars of the family, play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and boundaries of the household. Since the family, as the fundamental social unit, has a direct impact on the growth or decline of societies, attention to its empowerment is essential. To prevent the destructive consequences of social collapse, strengthening and empowering the family in individual, familial, social, and international dimensions is of paramount importance. In this regard, governmental organizations must design programs to empower social structures and enhance international capabilities, taking political considerations into account.Conversely, contemporary feminist movements, especially on a global scale, emphasize that women do not need to depend on men and should receive education in all dimensions. This idea has been pursued in many countries, particularly in developing nations, in the form of women's empowerment programs. This study provides a comprehensive perspective on women's empowerment in cultural, economic, political, and social aspects, aiming to include all women, not just those who are heads of households. The present study was conducted using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that women's empowerment is influenced by two categories of factors: internal and external. Women themselves act as an internal factor, while spouses, parents, and cultural institutions are identified as external influential factors.

Abstract Sexual health is defined as a physical, emotional, mental, and social state related to sexuality and sexual matters, and it is not merely the absence of disease, disorder, or dysfunction. Like other human behaviors, sexual behavior is influenced by an individual's knowledge and attitude toward gender and sexual issues. A prerequisite for healthy sexual behavior is having accurate sexual knowledge and an appropriate attitude, as thoughts, attitudes, and values constitute essential components of sexual behavior and serve as key factors affecting sexual responses. This study aimed to examine the evolution of gender stereotypical beliefs over the past five decades and investigate the impact of education on the level of such beliefs among women over the last 50 years. The statistical population consisted of five generations of married women residing in Fars Province between 2021 and 2022. Using convenience sampling, 500 married women from Fars participated by completing demographic and gender stereotype questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation, regression analysis, MANOVA, and ANOVA in SPSS-26. The Pearson correlation coefficient results indicated a negative relationship between women's gender stereotypical beliefs and education. The regression analysis showed that the regression model explained 23% of the variance in gender stereotypical beliefs, with education being a significant predictor. Additionally, MANOVA results demonstrated a downward trend in gender stereotypical beliefs over the past 50 years. The findings suggest a shift in women's perspectives and attitudes toward gender-related taboos. While women's education levels have significantly increased over the past five decades, their sexual knowledge has shown only a minimal rise.
