Abstract Depression is one of the most common mental disorders, having a significant impact on quality of life. From 1990 to 2010, it was recognized as the most costly mental illness worldwide. Estimates indicate that more than 17% of the U.S. population experience depression at some point in their lives, and each year, 19 million individuals develop major depression.

In recent years, attention to psychological factors influencing the health and performance of female physical education teachers has increased. Among these factors, optimism can play an important role in enhancing psychological flexibility. The present study aimed to investigate the predictive role of optimism in psychological flexibility among female physical education teachers in Shiraz. This research was descriptive–correlational and applied in nature. The statistical population consisted of 300 female physical education teachers, of whom 140 were selected using cluster sampling. Data collection tools included three standardized questionnaires: the Psychological Flexibility Scale by Dennis and Vander Wal, and the Academic Optimism Scale by Beard et al. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24 with Pearson correlation and multiple regression tests.

The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between optimism and psychological flexibility. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis showed that the two variables could simultaneously predict psychological flexibility. The results indicate that optimism can contribute to enhancing the psychological resilience of female physical education teachers. Based on these findings, it is recommended that educational and counseling programs be designed and implemented to strengthen these factors, thereby facilitating improvements in teachers’ mental health and professional performance.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between body shame and problematic use of social networking sites, considering the mediating role of perfectionism, among female applicants for cosmetic surgery in Shiraz in the year 2025. This study employed a descriptive-survey design based on structural equation modeling (SEM). The statistical population consisted of all female applicants for cosmetic surgery who visited beauty clinics in Shiraz during 2025. Out of this population, a total of 257 participants were selected using a non-random purposive sampling method and completed the Body Shame Scale (Littleton), the Perfectionism Scale (Hill), and the Social Networking Addiction Questionnaire (Khaje Ahmadi) through both paper-based forms and online surveys. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, with Pearson’s correlation coefficient employed to examine the relationships between variables, and SPSS 27 and AMOS 26 software used for final analysis. The findings indicated that body image shame positively and significantly predicted problematic social networking use (B = 0.202). Furthermore, perfectionism had a significant positive relationship with problematic use of social networking sites and predicted it to some extent (B = 0.097). In addition, body image shame had a positive and significant relationship with perfectionism, predicting it with a coefficient of (B = 0.091). The path analysis results supported the main hypothesis of the study, indicating that perfectionism plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between body shame and problematic social networking site use. Accordingly, individuals who are dissatisfied with their body image or experience body shame are more likely to engage in excessive and harmful use of social networking platforms, and individuals with perfectionistic tendencies are also more likely to develop problematic social networking behaviors. Therefore, perfectionism can act as an intermediate factor that amplifies the impact of body shame on problematic social media use and intensifies individuals’ negative perceptions of their bodies, ultimately leading to excessive and unproductive engagement with social media. Based on these findings, the main research hypothesis was confirmed.

Abstract Today, many countries in the world face the cognitive demographic challenges of decreasing birth rates and delaying marriages, which can lead to aging populations and labor shortages. Iran is one of the countries affected by these developments. The aim of this study is to identify and examine effective policies that promote marriage and increase birth rates globally. The findings and analyses obtained can serve as a valuable resource for encouraging marriage among younger generations and increasing birth rates in our country. The collection of this data is a systematic review that includes reputable academic research, government publications, and statistical databases from countries that have succeeded in this global challenge that has addressed the subject over the past decade. Based on the information collected, it can be said that financial concerns such as pay increases, tax deductions for families, and care for children with working parents, as well as social support programs such as generous leave for parents, housing priority for couples, and marriage promotion, were identified with the help of initiatives such as social promotion campaigns and the use of media. The study shows promising policy options for Iran, and adjusting these findings to Iran’s cultural and religious conditions and implementing experimental plans prior to national scaling could help curtail the current trend.

Abstract .This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of resilience training based on the acceptance and commitment approach on the levels of acceptance, gratitude, and courage among female heads of households in Shiraz. This experimental research employed a semi-experimental pre-test and post-test design with a control group. A total of 100 participants were selected, with 30 participants attending the workshops and divided into two experimental groups (15 participants each). Data collection instruments included the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire, Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ-6), and Courage Questionnaire. The intervention consisted of 10 sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours, conducted weekly for the experimental group. The results of the analysis of covariance showed that resilience training significantly enhanced acceptance, gratitude (GQ-6), and courage among female heads of household. Therefore, resilience training based on the acceptance and commitment approach can be considered an effective method to enhance acceptance, gratitude, and courage among heads of household. Moreover, the intensity and duration of resilience training played a significant role in the outcomes. The results indicate that resilience training based on the acceptance and commitment approach had a positive and significant effect on acceptance, gratitude levels, and courage among female heads of household. Consequently, resilience training programs tailored to the specific needs and characteristics of female heads of household, considering environmental, cultural, and social factors in their living environment, can play an effective role in improving family functioning and well-being, as well as enhancing their gratitude and courage.

Abstract This study aims to investigate the role of body image in predicting sexual performance quality in primiparous women after childbirth in Bushehr. Bodily changes after childbirth, particularly in first-time mothers, can significantly affect their body perception, as well as their sexual relationships and satisfaction. Researchers believe that a positive or negative body image after childbirth influences not only sexual performance quality but also mental health and life satisfaction in women. Given the importance of this issue, this research specifically examines how body image affects the sexual performance of primiparous women in Bushehr. The research used a quantitative approach, employing valid and standardized measurement tools for data collection. The tools included the Fisher Body Image Scale (FBIS) and the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), both of which have the necessary validity and reliability for accurate assessment. These tools are specifically designed to evaluate various aspects of body image and sexual function. The study population consisted of primiparous women who had given birth vaginally. To enhance the accuracy and generalizability of the results, random sampling was employed, and the study group was selected from primiparous women with similar conditions residing in Bushehr. The findings clearly showed that postpartum body image significantly influences sexual function quality. Women with a positive body image after childbirth reported higher sexual performance quality. In contrast, women with a negative body image experienced a significant decline in satisfaction and sexual function quality. These findings underscore the importance of considering the mental health and body image of women after childbirth, emphasizing that a negative body image can affect not only sexual health but also interpersonal relationships. The results also indicated that improving body image after childbirth could directly lead to increased satisfaction with sexual performance. This highlights the importance of focusing on body image in postpartum women and shows that through the development of behavioral and psychological interventions, body image can be enhanced, ultimately improving women’s quality of life and mental health. The overall conclusion of this research emphasizes that postpartum body image plays a crucial role in women’s sexual and mental health. Therefore, addressing this issue could contribute to the development of intervention programs and targeted treatments designed to improve body image, thereby enhancing sexual performance and mental well-being in women.

Abstract Violence against women and girls persists across all human societies despite differences in religions and other intellectual, cultural, economic, and social factors. It is a global, transhistorical and transcultural phenomenon with roots in the history of humanity. This consequence prevents the full participation of women in society and poses a serious threat to human rights and health. Violence has significant effects on women's physical and mental health. Despite extensive research on the consequences of violence on women's mental health, the prevalence of violence has increased during the COVID-19 quarantine period. This study examines the extent of violence against women and girls and its psychological consequences during quarantine. This is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study. The instruments used in this study include a Demographic Questionnaire, Standard Violence Against Women Questionnaire and the Hopkins Index (HSCL). Data analysis was conducted by SPSS 26 software. (P <0.01). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between all dimensions of mental health and violence. Exposure to various types of violence leads to a decline in mental health across different dimensions. Violence emerges as a robust predictor of mental health in various dimensions. Considering the important role of women in the family and the impact of their health on family and community well-being, it is imperative to take measures to reduce violence and enhance women's mental health.

Abstract The present study aimed to compare irrational beliefs, self-concept, and spiritual well-being in divorced and normal women. This research was causal-comparative. The statistical population was all divorced women covered by the welfare organization and ordinary women of Shiraz city. The sample group consisted of 120 people in two groups (60 divorced women and 60 normal women). The available sampling method was used to determine the sample size in the group of divorced women. The purposeful method was used for normal women to compare the group of normal women with divorced women. Jones' irrational beliefs questionnaire, Rogers' self-concept questionnaire, Polotzin's and Ellison's spiritual well-being questionnaire, were analyzed. The collected data were evaluated at two levels (descriptive statistics and inferential statistics). At the level of statistics, mean and standard deviation were used, and at the level of inferential statistics, multivariate analysis of variance has used. The result showed that there is a significant difference between irrational beliefs, self-concept, and spiritual well-being in divorced and normal women. Irrational beliefs in women with a history of divorce are higher than in normal women, and the mean of self-concept variables and spiritual well-being in women with a history of divorce is lower than in normal women. The average of irrational beliefs and their dimensions (including helplessness against change, the expectation of approval from others, problem avoidance, and emotional irresponsibility) are higher in women with a history of divorce than in normal women. There is a significant difference between self-concept in women with a history of divorce and normal women. The average spiritual well-being and its dimensions (existential health and religious health) are lower in women with a history of divorce than in normal women. Based on the results, on the need to pay attention to the irrational beliefs of self-concept and spiritual well-being, it is suggested that these structures be implemented in pre-marriage training classes to prevent the occurrence of problems and increase people's awareness of the role of these variables in joint life.

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the relationship between seven components of women's lifestyle (sleep, omega-3 intake, exercise, sunlight, and socialization, using cyberspace and using traditional media) with their mental health according to an evolutionary point of view. The statistical population included women over 18 years old living in Shiraz in 1398-99, of which 182 women answered the questionnaires by sampling. Lifestyle questionnaires and Hopkins syndrome were used to collect data. Data analysis was performed using two tests of Pearson correlation coefficient and regression coefficient using SPSS-26 software. The results showed that in general, omega-3 consumption has a significant Curved linear dual relation with mental health. Among the subscales of the Hopkins sign, sleep also showed a significant positive relationship with somatization and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It can be seen that women's lifestyle has a great impact on their mental health, their children, and maintaining the physical and mental health of the family. Promoting a lifestyle that is more in line with women's evolutionary past is a more plausible perspective that can improve their mental health.
