Abstract The present study aimed to predict marital satisfaction based on relationship beliefs among couples in Shiraz. The family, as the most fundamental social institution, plays a vital role in the psychological and emotional well-being of its members, and marital satisfaction is considered a key indicator of its stability. Since dysfunctional relationship beliefs may lead to recurrent conflicts, misunderstandings, and decreased relational quality, examining their predictive role in marital satisfaction is essential. This study employed a descriptive-correlational design, with the statistical population consisting of all couples who referred to therapeutic centers in Shiraz in 2024. A total of 270 individuals were selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (Ferdosi, 1999) and the Relationship Beliefs Questionnaire (Eidelson & Epstein, 1982). Data analysis with Pearson correlation and simultaneous regression in SPSS-28 revealed a significant negative relationship between dysfunctional relationship beliefs and marital satisfaction. Specifically, the dimensions of “belief in the immutability of the spouse” and “mind-reading expectation” had the strongest negative effects on marital satisfaction. Overall, findings showed that relationship beliefs accounted for about 12% of the variance in marital satisfaction. These results emphasize the necessity of modifying and adjusting relationship beliefs in couples, as such interventions can foster greater compatibility, improve emotional interactions, and enhance marital quality. Therefore, educational and counseling programs focused on revising relationship beliefs may serve as effective strategies for promoting marital satisfaction among couples.

The statistical population included all infertile women in Shiraz, which was selected from 250 people with targeted sampling method as sample. The research data were collected by Lovibond and L0vibond psychological helplessness questionnaire(1995), Dennis and Vonder Wal's cognitive flexibility questionnaire(2010), Ahwaz psychological hardiness questionnaire(1377) and Zimet and colleagues perceived social support questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and AMOS software. According to the findings, the coefficient of direct pathway of cognitive flexibility to psychological helplessness, cognitive flexibility to perceived social support and psychological hardiness for perceived social support was significant. The coefficient of two direct pathways of psychological hardiness to psychological helplessness and perceived social support to psychological helplessness and also the indirect pathway coefficient of cognitive flexibility to psychological helplessness and psychological hardiness to psychological helplessness through perceived social support is not significant. In order to reduce the psychological helplessness of infertile women, measures should be taken to improve and increase psychological hardiness, cognitive flexibility and perceived social support.

Sayed Mehdi Hosseini, Fahimeh Momen

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-compassion and body management in women. The present study was descriptive and correlational. The study's statistical population consisted of all women in Shiraz in 2021. Among them, 300 women were selected from the statistical population by available sampling method as the sample size. Data were collected using Self-Compassion Questionnaire (Reiss, Puminer, Neff, and Wanguchta (2011) (SCS-SF)) and Online Object Awareness Questionnaire (McKinley and Hyde (2001)). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and SPSS statistical software. Findings from Pearson correlation analysis, related to examining the significant relationship between self-compassion and changes in body management in women, showed a significant negative relationship between the components, including self-kindness, self-judgment, human sharing, isolation, mindfulness, extreme assimilation, and changes in body management. The present study results emphasize the role and importance of self-compassion in dealing with behaviors related to body management. Cultivating a compassionate mind can control the negative behavioral consequences associated with maladaptive body management, which can have many practical implications for women.
