Manuscript Acceptance Process in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies, aiming to enhance the academic level of research in the field of women’s issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, reviews and accepts research articles through the following stages:
1. Submission of Manuscript
Authors must submit their manuscripts via the journal’s electronic submission system. Manuscripts should comply with the author guidelines and be complete and coherent in terms of structure, references, and writing standards.
2. Initial Review (Editorial Check)
At this stage, the manuscript is evaluated by the editor-in-chief or editorial board members for alignment with the journal’s thematic scope, originality, adherence to research ethics, and initial quality. If approved, the manuscript proceeds to specialized peer review.
3. Specialized Peer Review (Double-Blind)
Manuscripts that pass the initial review are sent to two expert reviewers in the relevant field. The review is conducted in a double-blind manner, meaning that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Reviewers are expected to provide their evaluations with accuracy and fairness within the specified timeframe.
4. Summary of Reviews and Final Decision
Based on reviewers’ comments, the manuscript may fall into one of the following categories:
Accepted without revisions
Accepted with minor revisions
Requires major revisions and re-review
Rejected
5. Notification to the Author
The final review decision, along with suggestions and required revisions, is communicated to the corresponding author. If necessary, the author must implement the requested revisions within the given timeframe and upload the revised manuscript.
6. Final Review, Editing, and Publication
After approval of the final version, scientific and technical editing is performed by the editorial team, and the manuscript is prepared for publication in an upcoming issue of the journal.
Important Note Regarding Research Ethics Codes
Articles in which data are directly collected from individuals (e.g., questionnaires, interviews, or other human data collection methods), even if non-interventional, must have an ethics approval or code from the relevant university or institutional ethics committee. Manuscripts without an ethics code will not enter the peer review process. The ethics code must be included in the manuscript, and a copy of the approval must be submitted.
Open Access:
All articles published in the journal are freely accessible to readers under an open access policy.
